Help!! I hate my picture being taken!
There is something magical about capturing the passion, no matter the age or physical characteristics: the true self always emerges. People often ask how I get such a natural expression. well... I am a musician who has also studied art and dance, so I am really in love with all of the arts and have a special connection to them. In addition, I have studied Developmental Movement for over 15 years, including Feldenkreis movement and Alexander technique with some of the best teachers. These techniques help to me coach you thru a precise way of using the muscles in your face and body so that the camera sees your authentic self. It's not so much about the kind of camera or the specific lens (although mine are state of the art). It's really about decades of studying the face and body and spotting the tiny micro-muscular movements, and the ability to easily and comfortably coach my subjects to find those movements themselves . It's not a secret, it just comes with many decades of experience. P.S. I hate my picture being taken too, so I am totally sympathetic to those who hate it

wardrobe tips
Let's keep it simple. I love open necklines in dark colors for women and ribbed turtle-neck sweater as well. wrinkle free knits, turtle necks and shirts for men. All clothing should fit really well. Not too big or small. I love black, navy, and grey. Typically I like to stay away from white yellow or greens (but call to discuss because these are general guidelines and not hard rules. If your wearing a business suit then a colorful shirt is great. Bring several things and I am happy to guide you with what looks best. Formal wear can be especially wonderful as well, Especially if you need press and promotional materials. who doesn't' love a little glamour.
Thick dark eyeliner is never flattering in pictures. Simple, natural makeup is always best. A good foundation for even skin tone is the most important thing. I love capturing your natural beauty less is more! I'm not into 3 or four outfit changes.in a short period of time unless you are a model, musician or actor. Don't worry about skin blemishes that breakout on your face before hand. Anything that is not a normal part of your face I can take care of in post processing. Men may want to shave just before a session.
retouching - All basic re-touching is included (e Basic retouching includes Smoothing skin, cleaning backgrounds, sharpening, removing spots and blemishes, reducing eye bags and wrinkles (if necessary), matching skin tones and whitening teeth and eyes if necessary).I really like to keep this very natural looking It's actually harder to do. each individual pic is hand retouched. Advanced retouching is additional (this includes body modifications, hair color changes, clothing adjustments, lip chin and neck alterations). 95% percent of all my photographs are done using the basic retouching which is included. I don't actually recommend anything additional unless you are in the fashion industry.

What’s a shoot like?
In order to have a great headshot, you need to be relaxed. In order to be relaxed, you need to be having fun. So I make the process as enjoyable and stress-free as possible. I encourage spontaneity, and I’m very directorial. I don’t expect you to know how to perform for the camera- it’s not your job to know that. It's mine. I shoot a ton of shots, I’m always making suggestions. We will mostly chat while i'm shooting and giving little tips here and there..

What makes a great headshot?
Terrific headshots must have three qualities. They should accurately show what you look like on a great day. They should capture a unique and interesting aspect of your personality. And they should be engaging, creative and original photographs. Without all of these characteristics, a headshot is just ordinary.
I believe in a very natural, candid approach to headshots. I want to capture a spontaneous moment in your life, when there's a real spark in your eyes and a genuine expression on your face. Your greatest asset is your individuality.
What’s your policy for rescheduling?
